F1 In Schools Teams
F1 in schools team we are a group of five girls competing in the f1 in schools competition this year.
F1 in schools teams. Teams cars along with their team branding marketing materials accompanying budgets for funding and other project elements expose students to potential stem career paths as they work to develop their own mock race team. Each year more than 17000 schools in 51 nations take on the challenge of developing the worlds fastest miniature f1 car. We are an irish f1 in schools team from ardscoil na mara consisting of 5 members. Here in australia approximately 22000 students are involved each year with over ten times that being exposed to the program and having access to the same classroom technology used by the students to design and build their cars.
The f1 in schools stem challenge encourages teams of 3 6 students aged 9 19 to learn and utilize cadcam software to collaborate design analyze manufacture test and ultimately race 120th scale formula 1 compressed air powered cars milled from an f1 model block. The cars are powered by co2 cartridges and are attached to a track by a nylon wire. Teams from all round the world compete for the chance to be crowned the f1 in schools world champions. The f1 in schools stem challenge is the worlds foremost student competition for science technology engineering and mathematics.
The two halves of the team are from st bedes college melbourne and brighton secondary school adelaide. Matthew luke rian oisin and feidhlim our goal is to make it to the f1 schools world finals in texas and win it all. F1 in schools is an international stem competition for school children in which groups of 36 students have to design and manufacture a miniature car out of the official f1 model block using cadcam design tools. The team currently holds the f1 in schools world record of 0916 seconds.
Their state based teams were established in early 2015 and following the 2016 australian national final came together to become infinitude. What do we do we aim to build a miniature f1 racing car while also partnering with companies setting up a trade display and creating a brand. It is a unique global platform for the promotion of formula 1 and partners to a youth market. We are all passionate learners and we are committed to excel in this competition.
